This 6-input 2-output summing mixer features 14 transformers in a single rack space enclosure. The H6×2 is a Class-A analog signal path and has the ability to go from a clean utility mixer to a blown-out transformer color-box at the turn of a knob. Each input features a Trim adjustment and an LMR (Left, Mute, Right) assignment rotary. Each output bus features a stepped Gain rotary and a final output Trim.
The original concept behind the H6×2 was to encourage committing to a sound during the tracking process. For example, one could take the line outputs from their microphone pre-amps and go into the H6×2 to create a final blend before recording. With 6 inputs and 2 outputs, this could be 3 kick drum sources and 3 snare drum sources that get assigned to their own bus output, recording 2 tracks instead of 6.
When Sharkbite Studios in Oakland California decommissioned their Trident TSM console, several channels went up for sale. I purchased 28 channels with the intention of racking them as stereo pairs. To be honest, I had never heard of the TSM console but Joe Barresi hinted at them being great, especially the EQ. He was right, these are incredible sounding EQs.
Featuring original Jensen microphone input transformers and a custom balanced line output stage with Sowter transformers, these Trident TSM Pre-amps and EQs are the perfect compliment for tracking and mixing.
This PCB (printed-circuit board) is based upon the Alembic Strat-o-Blaster. It is a FET (field-effect transistor) boost guitar preamp. Featuring through-hole components for easy modification and repair, this simple boost circuit can make a big difference to how your guitar interacts with your amplifier.
Additional instructions are included with your purchase.
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE KIT. THIS IS ONLY THE PCB. You will need additional components and soldering skills to turn this into a completed pedal.
Ebony is a single-channel, 50W all tube guitar amplifier. Featuring four 12AX7 preamp tubes and two KT66 power amp tubes, this amplifier is capable of providing a variety of tones, especially when the three modifier switches are utilized. There are two 3-way bright switches and one 3-way low switch. These modifier switches happen early on in the circuit and provide several combinations to better suit the preamplifier EQ based upon the guitar pickup selection.
